Jacob Malacara – 72, of Colorado Springs, a man of honor, integrity and selfless devotion to his family passed into eternity on June 1, 2012 at 10:44 am.
He was born to the late Trinidad and Guadalupe Malacara on, January 22, 1940, in Colorado Springs, CO. He worked as a body shop foreman for El Paso County Department of Transportation and retired after 34 years of service. He married his young love Gloria Romero on August 18, 1962. They made Colorado Springs their home and they began their beautiful family.
Jacob had a tremendous passion for life, so much that he found his hobby in videography. He was devoted to capturing life’s precious moments through videos and photos. He took pride in creating movies and slide shows while sharing them with his family with joy and pride. Jacob admired his children, grandchildren, and later his great grandchildren. He took every opportunity to create special moments with his family. He enjoyed taking his family on camping trips and exploring nature. He always made sacrifices to ensure his family had everything.
He is preceded by his parents Trinidad and Guadalupe Malacara along with his precious wife Gloria Malacara, his brothers Reverend Joe Malacara, Albert Malacara, Johnny Malacara, and Richard Malacara. Jacob is survived by his children Jeanni Malacara, JoAnn Perea, and Jimmi Malacara. He is also survived by his three siblings Daniel Malacara, Alfred Malacara, and Margaret Bustamante, six grandchildren Stephanie Cantu, Stephanie Sandoval, Jonathan Perea, Michael Malacara, Brandon Malacara, and Marilyn Malacara, six beloved great-grandchildren Lesario Cantu, Antonio Cantu, Daniel Sandoval, Romeo Cantu, Mariah Sandoval and Trinity Cantu.
His life lives on through his beloved family and his legacy will be remembered forever.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
