James Allen Haynes

James Allen Haynes, a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1985, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017.
James was born on January 30, 1934 to William Francis Haynes and Jimmie (Allen) Haynes in Lindsay, Oklahoma. In 1939 the family moved to Perry, Oklahoma and then in 1941 they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Finance in 1959. He was on the Dean’s Honor Roll for 2 years.
He served in the United States Army from January 1954 until January 1956 and was stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He was discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant after serving in the Korean War.
On November 26, 1982, he married Mary Ellen Massoth in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
James was employed by the Ford Motor Company from 1970 until 1997. He retired after traveling the entire U.S. for 28 years and seeing the most amazing sights in this country and meeting so many good friends. He retired in Colorado Springs and enjoyed skiing, yard work, boating, and traveling to England, Scotland, Ireland and Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; his two daughters: Jami Lockhart (husband, Brent Richard) of South Lake Tahoe, California, and Jill Holder (husband, Curtis) of Fort Pierce, Florida; three grandchildren: Christopher Karl Lockhart, Adrian James “AJ” Lockhart, and Lauryn Bly; and four great-grandchildren: Camdyn and Cooper Lockhart, Mayson Chandler, and Adyson Sharp. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alene Haynes in 1981; his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
A private family inurnment will be planned at a later date to be held in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
