James B. “JB” Hollingsworth MD, 91, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Santa Barbara, California.
James was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, grew up in Colorado and resided in Los Osos for 40 years with his wife, Jeannette (deceased). JB served in the US Navy as a corpsman during the landing at Iwo Jima and throughout the South Pacific until the end of WWII. He was Assistant Warden at the California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo.
JB is survived by stepsons: James William Osweiler, and Mark David Osweiler; daughter, Barbara Joyce Williams; son, James Patrick Hollingsworth; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Service and entombment with military honors will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
