TSgt. James F. Resner, USAF (Ret.), age 76, a resident of the Colorado Springs area since 2002, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Pikes Peak Hospice residence. He was retired from the United States Air Force after more than 23 years of service to his country and was an Electronics Engineer for Lockheed. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
James Frederick Resner was born on March 20, 1937 in Russell, Kansas to the late Rudolph and Pauline (Lehning) Resner. He was a 1955 graduate of Joplin High School. He was a Korean and Vietnam veteran. Jim enjoyed fly fishing, tying flies, and was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Masonic Temple.
He married Viola B. Borrego on April 16, 1957 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Vi survives and lives in Fountain, Colorado.
He is also survived by his two sons: Kenneth Resner (and Vickey) of Longmont, Colorado; James Resner, Jr. (and Stacey Wuest) of Austin, Texas; two brothers: Kenneth Resner of Orange County, California; Marion Resner; and his sister: Ann Mullan both of Lakewood, California.
Graveside services with Air Force Honors will be held at 1:15pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Avenue, Denver.
