James “Jimmy” Leno Fernandez, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020.
Jimmy was born June 14, 1946 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Leno and Lucille “Lucy” Mary (Patron) Fernandez. He married Martha Ann Gonzales on March 29, 1996 in Colorado Springs. He worked as a warehouseman.
Jimmy loved fishing, camping, going to the dog track, listening to music and cruising. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He is survived by Martha A. Fernandez, Leno Fernandez, Manuel Trujillo, Josie Mendez (Joseph), Jesse Acevedo (Cherilyn), AprilAnn Tillman (Christopher), Ramon Dominguez, Swan Dominguez (Ashley), Toby Fernandez, Linda Grimaldo, Sheila Lucero (Manuel), Nicky Fernandez (Veronica), Terry Fernandez (Patricia), Debbie Perea (Dicky), Janet Martinez (Manuel), Robert Fernandez (Norma), Georgia Martinez, June Velasquez (Leroy); 24 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leno and Lucy Fernandez; Louise Camacho, Sonny Buttierres, Shirley Steinfeld, Barbara Manchego, and Vera Simons.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow all at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
