James M. Lipper, age 67, a 28 year resident of Monument, Colorado, died on February 29, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Jim was born in Brockton, Massachusetts and had moved to Colorado with his wife, Karen, in 1990. He was a graduate of Brockton High and Massasoit College. Jim had worked as a salesman for Hanson Print in Massachusetts and L.T. Litho of Colorado. He semi-retired in 1999 and took a job with King Soopers where he worked until 2004.
Jim and his wife Karen enjoyed traveling and camping in their motor home and had visited the lower 48 states. Jim was an avid model railroader, train and antique fire truck lover. He owned his own antique fully operational fire engine an participated in many events and parades including the 4th of July Monument Parades. He was a volunteer for Fire Rehabilitation and assisted feeding many firefighters for many years.
He is survived by his sister, Kathy Brodil and her husband Arthur; brother, Kevin Lipper and his wife Denise; niece, Adriann; nephew, Adam; and great nieces and nephews all of Massachusetts. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years Karen; his parents: G. Robert “Bob” Lipper and Margaret “Peg” Lipper.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 55 North Jefferson Blvd., Monument, CO with a reception to follow at the church. Interment will be private.
