James Michael Maloney, age 84, passed away on August 29, 2018. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 40 years and was formerly a resident of Plainview, TX and Tulsa, OK. He was a business owner of Checkrite and Checkway for many years.
James Michael (Mike) Maloney was born on December 4, 1933 to Margaret Eleanore (Jett) and James Vincent “Pete” Maloney in Oklahoma City, OK. On September 15, 1958, he married Jacqueline Jean Horn at the JH Bar Ranch in Muskogee, OK.
Mike enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed reading & crossword puzzles. He was an avid Broncos and Sooners fan. Mike was a member of the Chapel of Our Savior in Colorado Springs. He graduated with a business degree from Oklahoma University in Norman. He served in the United States Army for 2 years during the Korean War.
He is survived by his children: Megan Ann, Patricia Lynne, and John Michael; his sister: Pattye Ann; his grandchildren: Austin Tanner, Hunter James, Sarah Anne, Emily Jean, and Morgan Ann. He is preceded in death by his wife: Jacqueline Jean; and his parents: Margaret and Pete Maloney.
A private graveside inurnment will be held at the Chapel of Our Savior Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
