James Oliver Nathan Sr, 79, passed away on January 27, 2021. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 39 years and was formerly a resident of Columbus Georgia. He was a Security Supervisor with King Soopers.
James was born on February 21, 1941 to Joe Nathan Jr and Ida Bell (Culmer) in Columbus, GA. Married Sun Taek (Kim) on March 3, 1977 in El Paso, TX.
Jim was fond of his family. He also enjoyed, travelling and had an appreciation for growing roses. He was a 32nd Mason and graduated from Spencer High School (Columbus GA) in 1959 later graduating from Blair College in 1986. He served in the United States Army for 26 years and retired as a First Sergeant.
He is survived by his 5 children: James Oliver Jr, Kevin Ian, Andre Dominic, Lina Nefertiti and Culmer Kim; 4 siblings: Sheila, Verinda, Yasmin and brother Jerome; 22 grandchildren: Sean, James O. III, Christian, Devon, Joshua, Damien, Savannah Rae, Isaiah, Andre Dominic II, Svetlana Marie, Audrey Claudine, Sheilla Francoise, Luis Anibal, Steven, Alyssa, Katara, Khaleesi Rose, Kainen, Aaliyah, Steven, Michael and Akira; and 5 great-grandchildren: Tyson and Demarcus. Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Sun Taek; daughter, Danielle Francoise; and brothers, Joe III and Jarvis.
A visitation will be held from 4 pm – 7 pm on Tuesday February 2nd at the Shrine of Remembrance. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on February 3rd at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
