James "Jim" PrichardJames Parker “Jim” Prichard, age 85, passed away November 22, 2018, in Colorado Springs, Colorado following a brief illness. Jim was born November 1, 1933, in Pampa, Texas to Sherman Parker and Carol Virginia (Corbett) Prichard. He was raised in Texas and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Texas Tech University in 1959. He lived in Oklahoma for 40 years before relocating to Greeley, Colorado in 2002. He resided in Colorado Springs since 2014.

Jim was a United States Marine Corps veteran and worked in computing for Phillips Petroleum for 27 years in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Following his retirement from Phillips Petroleum, he became the Director of Development for Phillips Theological Seminary in Enid, Oklahoma and was on staff for 9 years with the Oklahoma Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Jim married Yvonne Marie Mitts on June 15, 1958 in Stratford, Texas. He was a life-long member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and most recently a member of First Christian Church in Colorado Springs. He was a volunteer leader with the Boy Scouts of America for many years and was recipient of the Silver Beaver award in recognition of his service to this organization.

Jim is survived by his wife, Yvonne; son, Wesley P. (Cheryl) Prichard; daughter, Elizabeth P. (Rusty) Robison; and five grandchildren: Matthew, Kate, Emma, William, and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, A. Jane Davis.

Jim is remembered for his optimism, humor, discipline, commitment, philanthropy, service to many causes, and dedication to his family.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at First Christian Church, 16 E. Platte Ave. in Colorado Springs. A luncheon reception at the church will follow the memorial service.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to the Mitts Scholarship at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Oklahoma or First Christian Church of Colorado Springs.
