James “Jimmy” Santistevan, age 61, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018. He was a native of his beloved Colorado Springs, CO.

Jimmy was born on April 28, 1957 to James and Mary Santistevan in Colorado Springs, CO. On August 1, 1982 he married his “little angel”, Angie Mendiola, in Roswell, NM., after having met at the local Victory Chapel church conference.

Jimmy loved the wonderful outdoor life in the Rocky Mountain Range and enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. When he was not outdoors you could find him playing pool, fooseball, and darts. He was great at these hobbies as well and loved challenging others in competitions, teaching his children, or just playing a friendly game to pass the hours.

He will most definitely be fondly remembered for his expressive, sometimes over animated storytelling, his jokes and contagious laughter, infectious smile, his talented singing, and whistling that always brought joy to those around him. Over the years, God used him in powerful ways as he connected with many different people he’d met throughout his life journey lifting up Jesus, his loving Lord and Savior. He found that His light could shine and bring hope to others even in the darkest places of his own life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angie; His children: Reuben, Monique (Russell), Stephanie (Juan) & Ryan; his mother Mary; his siblings, LaVerne, Rod & Theresa; his grandchildren, Nevaeh, Josiah and Luke, all of whom, along with his great many extended family members and life long friends, will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his father James & his brother Dean.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, located at 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the same location.

A reception will be held following the service at Victory Life World Outreach, 2001 East La Salle Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
