James “Big Jim” Traynor
January 1, 1940 – March 11, 2017
Jim, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2017. A born and bred New Yorker, he was a resident of Monument, Colorado for 30 years.
A distinguished and honored Navy man, Jim served his country for 33 years. He was a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather and never missed an opportunity to offer support, advice, and praise. He was a golf enthusiast, Rockies fan and an Air Force Academy football supporter.
A memorial service will be held at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, 80910, on Saturday, March 18 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow. Jim will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, and his loss will be felt by all. Jim is survived by his wife, Miriam, of 54 years; daughters: Debbie, Mary and Kerri; sons-in-law: Rich, Ken and Travis; grandchildren: Natalie, Luke, Emily and Zoe; brothers: Danny and Jackie; and sister, Eileen.
