September 15, 1950 – April 11, 2025

Originally from Toto, Guam, and residing in Colorado Springs, Colorado, James was called into eternal rest at the age of 74.

He is welcomed at the Gates of Heaven by his parents, Vicente and Constantine Ibanez; his daughter, Leilani Ann Carbullido; his sister, Norma Jean Gogo; his parents-in-law, Benny and Antonia Campos; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joseph Tainatongo, Benny Jr., William Campos, Cecilia Ibanez, Elsie Aguilar, and Yolinda Cortez.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Campos Ibanez; and his children and their families: Johnny and Myrna Agustin (Damian and Karen, Mileena and Dante, Jaycee and Alex, Johnny, Joseph and Leanne, Christian and Allie, Danielle and Tony, Zachary, Gabrielle and Aji), and Cindy Tom and Martin Arriola (Zachary and Agatha, Chauncey and Adriene, Martin Jr. and Kassi, Maria). He is additionally survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends. His brothers and sisters and their spouses include Drake, Gordon and Beverly; Carol and Mark Skinner; Robert, Carlo and Miranda; Joseph, Linda Ibanez and Bill Sayama; Shannon Tainatongo; and sister-in-law, Roscel Campos.

Public viewing and last respects will be held on April 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A reception will follow at Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4051, 6523 North Academy Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918.
