Jana loved Joe, her boys, her beautiful daughter-in-love, Sarah, and her grandchildren more than her very breath. She filled her joyous life with gardening, cooking, all things family, running, horses, her amazing health, and spending time outdoors. To know Jana is to smile at the very mention of her name and the many seasons of adventure, fun, and her zeal for life. She was a natural born leader, and she did it with ease and kindness. Everyone was drawn to Jana. Her authentic compassion and upbeat personality made everyone feel cared for and at ease.
Ever the professional, her authenticity drew you in, but if you knew her private side, she made everyone hysterical with laughter. Her world class sense of humor would light up the room!

I adored her , as anyone that knew her did . She came to my mind last night and I when I learned of this loss ,I felt such regret and sadness for losing touch , but I never forgot her.

13 Aug 2024Like Gemma, Jana and I grew up together – we were neighbors on Long Island and I have the fondest and most vivid memories of a childhood spent with her and Nancy and John. Jana was a light -there was always fun and adventure when you were in her company. I remember swinging on her swingset singing “Joy the the World” – at the top of our lungs – showing off that we knew all of the lyrics – and it sounds like that is what Jana continued to be for everyone who came into her life. Though we didn’t stay in touch much after she moved to DC, I have thought of her often through the years and am so sorry to hear of her passing and am sending condolences to her whole family.
