Jane passed away on June 3, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on July 14, 1934, in Leota, MN, the daughter of Leo (Ike) and Josephine (Arens) Erdman. She lived on the family farm in Lismore, MN until she married on April 28, 1953, to James P. McCann.
In 1970 she and her husband, along with their 4 children, moved to Colorado Springs, CO where she helped her husband start a successful career in custom home building and manage their portfolio of rental properties.
Jane was a devoted Catholic and a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She had numerous hobbies including China painting, sewing, and keeping family and friends supplied with crocheted afghans. Jane won numerous awards over the years at the Colorado State Fair for her China painting. She loved spending time with family and grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, James P. McCann; their daughters: Adele (Michael) Gallagher, of Anchorage, Alaska, Terri Rose McCann, and Sherri Ann McCann, both of Colorado Springs, CO; (5) grandchildren: Tara (Zach) Volmer, Bryan Gallagher, Kayla (Tyler) Scheer, Grant Morin, and Nathan Morin; (5) great-grandchildren: Addisyn & Olivia Volmer, and Kora, Krew, Kace, and soon-to-be baby boy Scheer; brother, Allan (Sharon) Erdman, sister-in-law, Joyce Erdman, and sister-in-law, Joyce McCann; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son, Mark McCann, who passed away in 2000; her parents; her sisters, Rosemary (Chuck) Holzmer, and JoanAnn (John) Kuntz; and her brother, Earl Erdman.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
Jane will be laid to rest at Mt. St. Francis Columbarium.
