Janey Diane Jones
1951-2018
Janey Diane (Epling) Jones, 66, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on June 13, 2018. Janey was a resident of Colorado Springs for 30 years. She held many jobs, but her favorite was being at home with her children.
Janey was born on September 25, 1951 to Teddy Ray Epling and Verna Veneta Lung in Sacramento, California. On August 19, 1972, she married Ernest Berry Jones Jr. in Oakland, California.
Janey loved to travel, cook, sew, and spend time with her family, especially her grandkids. She also loved being involved with the Boy Scouts of America. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She attended Albany High School and graduated in 1969. She also attended Dixie College in St. George, Utah for 2 years.
She is survived by her loving children: Deanna Lynn Whited (Christopher), Douglas Berry Jones, and Debra Kay Forman (William “Charlie” Vann); her grandchildren: Damian Scott Whited, Mason Paul Whited, Emma Annie Whited, and Brett Thomas Whited; her brother, Robert Todd Epling; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Teddy Ray Epling, Verna Veneta (Lung) Epling; and her siblings: Stephen Michael Epling and Debra Kay Epling.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 9-10 am with the funeral service immediately following at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 2750 Melissa Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Immediately following the funeral service will be a graveside service at Memorial Gardens located at 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80909.
