Jean, age 79, passed away on February 17, 2018 from gall bladder cancer. She was a long-time resident of Colorado Springs and was the former owner of JMJ Mercantile. She also worked for Mountain Bell before her marriage.
Jean was born on March 3, 1938 to Dave and Phyllis Harris in Cherry Creek, Colorado. On May 23, 1959, she was united in marriage to Allen Jennings.
Jean was an artist, seamstress, and took great pride in creating beautiful gardens. She loved to crochet and made countless afghans that were given to family and friends over the years.
Jean graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1955, and later attended El Paso Community College.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Jennings-Bloxom; brother, Dick Harris; and grandchildren, Amanda and Logan Jennings. She was preceded in death by her husband; and sons, Todd and Neal.
A memorial will be held at 2PM March 3, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel to celebrate her life on what would have been her 80th birthday.
