Jean Mulville

Jean Mulville was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee on March 9, 1941. Jean went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2014. She was 72 and had been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1958.

She attended Elizabethton High in Elizabethton, Tennessee; Blair Junior College to become a legal secretary; Pikes Peak Community College; and Nazarene Bible College majoring in music, voice, and piano. She married Patrick Mulville on December 5, 1958 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Jean was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and witnessed continually for Jesus Christ during her lifetime. She accepted the Lord and was saved when she was 12 years old. Jean loved church work and was active for many years in the ministry of Country Gospel Singing in Colorado and neighboring states.

She enjoyed reading, writing, singing, music, sewing, bike riding, hiking and fishing with her husband. She also gladly volunteered with the Colorado branch of The American Heart Association and for local hospitals. Jean was honored by the Colorado Heart Association as the Colorado Heart Mother of the year, after resuming a normal life and overcoming the trauma of two multiple open heart valve replacement surgeries in 1969 and 1975.

For 24 years she was the entrepreneur of Mulville’s Welding Inspection & Code Consulting. She was a Certified Associate Welding Inspector. Jean was an active member of The American Welding Society and had been the Publicity Chairman of the AWS Southern Colorado Section.

Jean is survived by her husband; her daughter, Karen; and two grandchildren: Brandon and Amanda.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Garden Ranch Baptist Church, 3830 Van Teylingen Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80917. A reception will follow at the church. Graveside services will then be held at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
