Jeffery Glen Allison, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1968, passed away of a heart attack Sunday, December 8, 2013.
Jeffery was born on April 15, 1961 to Billy Glen and Mary Alice (Gillott) Allison in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from Mitchell High School, and was a state champion swimmer. He attended college on a swimming scholarship for one year at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and for a second year at West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.
He had a passion for life, laughter, and sports. He loved attending live sporting events such as football, hockey, soccer, and swimming. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed the Denver Broncos and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed rooting for the Colorado College Tigers. He had a wicked sense of humor and a courageous smile, always putting others at ease. He had a compassionate heart eager to help with anything he could. He had a passion for the ocean, and although he lived in Colorado much of his life, he dressed in shorts and flip flops year round as if he was going to the beach.
He is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Allison; step-sons: Nathan Devenyns and Matthew Devenyns; granddaughter, Dawnielle Devenyns; sister, Diane Allison Jones; father: Billy Allison; step-mother, LaQuita Allison; former spouse and friend, Donna R. Allison; nieces: Haley Anne Riordan and Allison Marie Jones. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Allison.
In lieu of flowers for the memorial service, a trust is being set up for his daughter Chelsea and granddaughter Dawnielle.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Interment will be private.
