Jerry Bridges
December 4, 1929 – March 6, 2016

Jerry Bridges passed away Sunday, March 6 from heart failure. He was 86.

Born in Tyler, Texas, Jerry received his engineering degree at the University of Oklahoma – going on to serve in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He then spent more than 60 years working for The Navigators.

Jerry was best known publicly as a Bible teacher and Christian author; perhaps most well-known for his book, “The Pursuit of Holiness”. His greatest passion was teaching people about the gospel and grace of Jesus Christ. To those who knew him best, he was a humble man who passionately loved his Lord, his family and his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; his daughter, Kathy Rodman and her husband Jeff; his son, Dan Bridges and his wife Lisa; as well as seven grandchildren: Elise, Joseph, Joshua, David, Brendan, Hannah and Sarah.

Memorial donations may be made to The Navigators’ Jerry Bridges Memorial Fund or Village Seven Presbyterian Church.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 5 to 8pm at the Shrine of Remembrance – 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2pm at Village Seven Presbyterian Church – 4040 Nonchalant Cir. S., Colorado Springs, CO. Private interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
