Jimmie Hill

Jimmie Hill passed away peacefully at his home November 25, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for over 50 years, where he served the community as an air traffic controller.
Jimmie was born January 1, 1929 at his family’s home in Franklin County, Illinois to William and Ruth (Fletcher) Hill. Jimmie was able to serve his country in the United States Air Force.
He enjoyed nature, especially the mountains and fishing. Jimmie was fond of westerns and thought of himself as an old crooner, and he loved his sugar. He was very devout to his faith and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jimmie is survived by his loving wife Betty Jean Cousins Hill “BJ” of 29 years; children: Crystal and Drew Guy of Arkansas, Jerome Carter and Chris Martell of Colorado Springs, Stephanie and Michael Smart of Limon, Colorado, Keith and Dawn Carter of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Gary and Tami Carter of Limon, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
A visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am on Friday, November 30, 2012 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Calhan Chapel, 900 Monument St., Calhan, Colorado 80808. Burial will be 1:30 pm Monday, December 3, 2012 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
