JoAnn Louise Hammond passed away on June 16, 2018. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for over 65 years. JoAnn was a homemaker and was born on June 14, 1929 to George Boren and Hazel (Allen) Boren in Perry, Iowa.
On September 5, 1946 she married Kepler V. Hammond in Denver, Colorado. JoAnn was the Director of the Stroke Club with Easter Seals for over 20 years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at their ranch in Teller County. She was a member of the NCO Wives Club during their years in the Marine Corps.
She is survived by her children: Craig and Janet Hammond, Jeff Hammond, Jim and Karen Hammond, and Barney and Lynn Hammond; her grandchildren: Nathan and Claire Hammond, Sarah and Clint Hammond, Stacie Vance and Erin Purcell; and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kepler V. Hammond.
A private service will be held with entombment at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel.
JoAnn was a very caring and giving person all her life and will be missed by her family and friends.
