Joe A. Cahalan
Joe A. Cahalan, 85, passed away peacefully at hospice in Colorado Springs on March 27, 2013. He was born to Michael and Mary (Wagner) Cahalan on November 12, 1927 in Square Butte, Montana. His parents and two sisters, Eva Spaulding and Vivian Crum, preceded him in death. Many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends survive him.
Joe spent his early years in Boys Town, Nebraska. After serving in the United States Army, he worked as a set designer and photographer for Station KRDO. He was the graphic designer for the Broadmoor Hotel for many years. Joe was well known as an accomplished local artist. His first love was music. As a self-taught musician, he played with several local groups in many different venues. He relished in playing for seniors who were unable to attend live music performances or dancing outside of their residences.
Joe will always be remembered because of his personal philosophy, which was, “Leave every situation you encounter in life, better.”
As requested, no service is planned, but a celebration of Joe’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Colorado Springs Senior Center, 1514 North Hancock, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
