John Anthony Klotz, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1991, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021. He was Director of Postal Affairs for Focus on the Family.
John was born on August 15, 1950, to Louis Klotz and Eleanor (Rogers) Klotz in California. He graduated from Monrovia High School in Monrovia, California in 1968. He married Loretta M. Lamb on October 20, 1973, in Monrovia.
He was a member of Vineyard Church. He enjoyed playing music, especially guitar with his family’s country band, J.R. Cottonwood. He also loved the Colorado outdoors, 4-wheeling, and skiing.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; his children: Taylor Klotz and Jennifer Bertram (husband, Chris); his brothers: Roger Klotz (wife, Mary), and Don Klotz (wife, Kathy); and two granddaughters: Briana Raposa, and Karli Klotz. He was preceded in death by his parents and other siblings.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery and a reception will follow at the Elks Lodge, 3400 N. Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
