Josefina Alvarez born June 9, 1933, in Colombia, South America, went to be with the Lord July 23, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
After the passing of her husband, Abelardo, she came to the United States to live with her children, where she resided for 25 years. She was known for her tenderness, love, sense of humor and care for her children.
Josefina was a nurse by profession and a skilled seamstress who also knitted in her spare time. She not only took care of her family but also the neighborhood families in her hometown of Bucaramanga, Colombia. She gained the respect and love of her neighbors and was recognized not only for being a nurse and seamstress but for providing spiritual and emotional support.
She always enjoyed being with family, sightseeing and an occasional ice cream cone. Josefina had a passion for her garden here in Colorado Springs, especially her grapevine which provided lots of grapes to share with friends and family.
She joins her husband, Abelardo, and son, Ludwing, in heaven. Josefina’s memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Inurnment will follow at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.

Álvarez, Soy testigo que sus hijos, fueron formados con valores altruistas, respeto y aprecio por el ser humano, que solo se recibe de sus progenitores.
