Joseph Colonese, a Colorado resident since 2001, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at home, surrounded by his family.
Joseph was born on March 24, 1942, in Hoboken, New Jersey to Francisco “Frank” and Elinore (Cleary) Colonese. He married Noreen Ellen Carroll on October 24, 1964, at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Jersey City, New Jersey. Joseph was a member of IBEW Local 102 and was employed as a journeyman electrician for 35 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Noreen; two sons, Jospeh Colonese, Jr. and Scott Colonese (Tam); a brother, Thomas Colonese; two sisters, Janice Viducich (John) and Patricia Colonese; and six grandchildren, Dakota, Kian Sienna, Ellie, Draygan and Scott; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Neil and Eleanore Carroll.
A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 11:30AM at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, 11020 Teachout Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908. There will be a reception immediately after the Mass concludes in the Parish Life Center of Our Lady of the Pines. Inurnment will take place privately at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum “America the Beautiful” Columbarium at a later date.
