Josephine M. (Knievel) Thiele passed away on January 1, 2014 in the comfort of her home in Colorado Springs.

Josephine was born on April 4, 1926 in Clearwater, NE to Joseph and Mary Knievel. She married Charles M. Thiele in July 1946 in Omaha, NE. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1971.

Josephine was a devoted mother and wife, whose faith and family was always first and foremost in her heart. Josephine was well known in the Avon community as she was a representative for over 40 years. She was also a wonderful cook and her home style cooking will be missed. She is preceded in death by her son, Larry Thiele, her parents and seven siblings. She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Charles; her daughters, Barbara Schiefelbein of Papillion, NE, and Rosemary (Lloyd) Apricio of Elbert, CO; her sons Dick (Teri) Thiele of Blair, NE, Gary (Robin) Thiele of Pueblo, CO, Jim (Dianne) Thiele of Woodland Park, CO, and daughter-in-law, Sandra Thiele, of Colorado Springs, CO. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 2:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO.

A funeral service with Mass will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 12 p.m. at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 North Logan Ave., Colorado Springs, CO.
