Judy Radspinner
Judy Radspinner was born on April 19, 1950 at Camp Carson, Colorado. She passed away on February 7, 2013 at Pikes Peak Hospice. For nearly 3 years she courageously fought the cancer which took her life. Many thanks are due to the doctors and nurses who work in the oncology department of Memorial Hospital – both Central and North.
Judy was always a great lover of animals. Her pinto horse, Duchess, was her constant companion for ten years. She was an excellent scholar, receiving a scholarship to Vassar and then when Yale opened their doors to women, she was one of the first to attend and graduated from Yale in 1972. Her basic philosophy of life was “Native American,” caring for and preserving “Mother Earth.”
In 1991, she married Francisco Tarango-Duarte. In 1993, they were blessed with a very special baby boy, Juan. Judy was able to live long enough to see him graduate from Doherty High School and become a great young man.
Judy is also survived by her mother: Bessie Radspinner; ex-husband: Francisco; three brothers: Jack (Cris), Jerry (Sharon), and Jessie (Flo); and one sister: Janne (David).
Private graveside services will be at the Antioch Cemetery in Yoder, Colorado.
