Julius “Jules” Leo Andrews, 87, of Colorado Springs, passed away on December 4, 2016. Jules was born on July 9, 1929 to the late Julius Andrew Andrews and Marie Florence (Nash) Andrews.
After graduating from high school, Jules took a course and earned his certification on how to repair old television sets. While serving in the United States Army, he learned about radio and radar which led him to his career after discharge. Jules was an Electrical Technician at Bourns Recon/Optical Inc; CAI division for 37 years in Barrington, Illinois before moving to Colorado Springs almost 20 years ago.
In 1958, Jules married Bonita Sarno and together had three children. He then married Mary A. Stauff in 1987.
In his spare time, Jules was the ultimate handyman. He enjoyed doing home repairs, fixing and building things, carefully reading instructions and was always intrigued by how things work. You could often find him in his workshop or tinkering with cars.
Jules is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children: Robert (Peter Vaccaro) Andrews, Barbara (Dale) Destree and William (Lisa) Andrews; grandchildren: Elle Destree, Michael Destree and Max Andrews. He is also survived by nine stepchildren along with their families. Jules was preceded in death by two siblings and one stepchild.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 8755 Scarborough Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Private inurnment will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
