June Evelyn Inmon, age 87, passed from this life peacefully at her home in the presence of her son and daughter on Saturday, December 27, 2014. June was born in Medford, Oregon on April 10, 1927 to the late Alfred Hugh Neff and Sylvia Pearl Hilden. June was also preceded in death by her brothers, James Hugh Neff and Gordon Millard Neff; Her sister, Alice Eileen Rosenblatt; and son James Douglas Inmon.
June was a resident of Colorado Springs for 53 years and formerly a resident of Fort Carson, Colorado; Germany; England; and several states of these United States of America. June grew up in Eagle River, Wisconsin.
June is survived by her eldest son, Ernest Glen Inmon, Jr.; exdaughter-in-law, Mary Alice Inmon; daughter, Donna Jo Merrick; son-in-law, Howard Allen Merrick; 8 grandchildren: Gene Bevins; Jim Bevins; Tom Bevins; Joshua Salazar; Ernest Inmon, III; Norman Inmon; Sarah Gaylord; James Inmon, Jr.; 14 great grandchildren: Brittanie Watson; Evelyn Bevins; Bethaney Bevins; Jimmy Bevins; Vincent Goodman; Sidney Gaylord; Catherine Gaylord, Brandon Inmon; Nicholas Inmon, Bailey Bevins; Zechariah Inmon; Tristan Inmon; Delilah Inmon, Alexander Inmon; 2 great great grandchildren: Lexie Watson; and Lydia Watson. June is also survived by her niece, Jacquie Lewis and Barb Wilson; and nephew Alfred Neff.
June was an accomplished teletype operator for the War Department of the AAF Air Technical Service Command at Wright Field, Dayton, OH. During World War II. June retired as a secretary behind the counter from Rastall Center at Colorado College.
June loved to play bridge and belonged to the American Contract Bridge League and was certified as a “National Master”. June’s favorite passion was sports. She loved the local football, baseball, and hockey teams. June knew all the coaches and players’ names for the Broncos and CC Hockey. June enjoyed going to Colorado Greyhound Parks to handicap, bet and watch the dogs run. June enjoyed “outings” to different functions with Silver Key and the friends she made through these outings. June loved to work out in her garden, taking care of her many flowers and chive plants. June was an artist in her own right. Her drawings were lifelike. June also was a stamp collector. June loved nature, the evergreen trees, flowers, mountains, and all the animals.
