June Louise Wilson
June 12, 1933 to December 30, 2017
June was born in Shelby, Ohio on June 12, 1933, third child of six children to Clifton and Gladys Barnhill. She graduated from the University of Colorado in 1973.
She passed away in her sleep at her home of 44 years on December 30, 2017 with Becky by her side. She was 84. She told Karen several days before her death, “I will see Jesus.” June was a Christian all of her life and practiced her faith. Family, friends and neighbors loved her. She was a kind and loving person as was evidenced by her being a foster parent to dozens of children during her lifetime.
She moved to Colorado Springs in 1960. She married Lewis Wilson on July 16, 1987. She was involved with Bible Study groups at her church. She and Lewis enjoyed going to the mountains staying in a cabin in God’s beauty. They would fish, hike and explore enjoying God’s wonders. Lewis predeceased her on April 27, 2017.
She is survived by two daughters: Karen and Becky; a stepson: Jeff; 4 grandchildren: Kandice, Beth, Aaron and Ethan, with another grandbaby on the way to Beth and her husband, Randall; 2 great grandchildren: Stephanie and Cole; and 3 great great grandchildren: Hailey, Sean and Sebastian; a foster daughter: Jamie and her 5 siblings: David, Vernon, John, Charles and Carol.
June’s memorial service will be held at Cragmor Christian Reformed Church at 1225 Acacia Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80907 on January 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cragmor Christian Reformed Church.
