Karen Ohmer, 62, passed away on February 8, 2022. She had been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1965. Karen had worked on Fort Carson Military Base for 30 + years with the majority of that time in the Installation Supply Division. She had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since the opening of the church.
Karen was born February 15, 1959 to Eugene and Mildred (Erickson) Ohmer in Killeen, Texas, where her father served in the military.
Karen had a passion for gardening and enjoyed crocheting and knitting, making a variety of items for family and friends. She truly enjoyed spending time with family, especially her nieces, nephews and her great nieces and nephews. She was active in the church helping with Vacation Bible Study, any children’s events. She also assisted with costumes for the various plays put on by the children of the parish.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Ohmer and is survived by her mother, Mildred (Billie) Ohmer and siblings Susan Thompson, Nancy Ems, Daniel Ohmer, Steven Ohmer and Janice Garriott; four nephews, four nieces and many great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at St Joseph Catholic Church in Colorado Springs. A private entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance. A reception will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 1:00 pm.
Memorials in her name can be made to the American Cancer Society or to Pikes Peak Hospice Care Center.

to the Arsenal here for her job. We had a nice visit with her.
