Kent Nygaard
November 10, 1946 – June 27, 2018

Kent Nygaard, 71 of Colorado Springs passed away on June 27, 2018. Kent was born in Colorado Springs on November 10, 1946. He was a graduate of Wasson High School and received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Industrial Arts Education from the University of Northern Colorado.

Kent was an Industrial Arts teacher in the Miami-Dade School District for 14 years. He served in the US Army for 2 years including one year in Vietnam.

He was an avid reader, collector of Southwest art, and a lover of all genres of music. He was passionate about nature, a bird watcher, and a supporter of organizations dedicated to conservation and preservation of nature.

Kent exhibited grace and courage through many health challenges. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lynette Nygaard.

He will be dearly missed by Lynette’s mother, her brothers and sisters, and his many nieces and nephews who loved him so much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Colorado Springs.
