(The Man, The Myth, The Legend)
11/26/1951 – 03/01/2024, AGE 72

Born on Thanksgiving Day, Kim was the fourth child born to Marilyn and William Anderson in Gary, Indiana. He had three older siblings: two sisters, Billie and Bobbie, and an older brother, Gregory. He was the baby and the favorite, “Of course.” Kim grew up in Crown Point, Indiana and had spent his childhood enjoying competitive swimming and football. At age 14, his family relocated to Anaheim, CA, where he completed school at Santiago High.

Kim married his first love Sandra and had three beautiful daughters: Kimberly, Candice and Carli. Providing for his family was always Kim’s top priority so he started a career in long haul truck driving. He was awarded driver of the year in 1990 with Global Van lines; a high honor in a large field of competition. He would continue in this profession for 46 years and became a legend in his field of expertise.

He took a pause in his career to help with the family truck stops in Colorado and California. During these years he welcomed his 4th daughter, Marilyn, with his partner, Patricia. He later married Vickie and welcomed his 5th daughter, Kerrianne, in 1987.

Kim was the life of any party and was able to get along with anyone. While he spent most of his days on the road working hard to provide for all, he still managed to make time for his family, which included family trips, cruises and long dinners. Kim was a comedian who missed his calling for sure, but could liven up any room with his jokes and presence. His daughters were always his first priority and they knew that the one person they could always count on was Dad, no matter what. He was also an avid football fan. We are happy to report that he was able to watch his final Super Bowl game from his hospital bed next to his youngest daughter, son in law and sister where his team did, in fact, win.

Kim is preceded in death by his parents, William and Marilyn; his brother, Gregory; and his partner, Patricia.

Kim is survived by his 5 daughters: Kimberly (Dan), Candice (Claude), Carli (Tim), Marilyn, and Kerrianne (Erin); 7 grandchildren with number 8 just weeks away; as well as 5 great grandchildren; and his sisters, Bobbie and Billie.

Kim’s contagious laugh, compassion and love he gave freely and unrestricted will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.  Inurnment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Song of Mary Columbarium.
