Lana Corrine Britton
March 16, 1948 – February 6, 2016
Lana Corrine Britton, age 67, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her residence at Britton Nursery where she was owner and affectionately called the “Queen Bee.”
Lana was born on March 16, 1948 in Pierre, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Massilon Wilson and Laura (Larson) Wilson. She married Allen H. Britton, Jr. in September of 1975 at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs.
She was a fun-loving person through and through- very much the “life-of-the-party!” She deeply loved spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, being outdoors and gardening. She never wanted to miss out on anything fun, and never turned down an opportunity to play games with her family and friends.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Kami Haggstrom, Dana Westbrook, Stephanie (husband Kirby) Thompson; her sister Celeste (husband Mark) Pellman, 2 nieces, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 6:30pm at the Woodmen Heights Campus of Woodmen Valley Chapel at 8292 Woodmen Valley View, Colorado Springs, CO 80908. To sign up to bring a refreshment, you may visit http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e49adac2ca0f49-homemade.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Al and Lana Britton Memorial Fund, (c/o Farmer State Bank, 7025 Meridian Road, Peyton, CO 80831) to continue planting seeds of Hope and Beauty and Love and Life in our community and beyond.
