Joanne Clay passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born October 17, 1937, in Laramie, Wyoming to Dale and Ruth Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Lange, also of Colorado Springs; her son, Mike Neal of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her brother, Gordon (Alice) Jones of Lewisville, North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews; granddaughter, Ryan Moore; and 2 great-grandchildren: Maddux and Meara; all of Casper, Wyoming; dear family friend and Cindy and Mike’s “other mother”, Connie Neal of Cheyenne, Wyoming; also her “step family”, Marlin (Kathy) Rambo of Laramie; Sandy Rambo of Lafayette, Colorado; Jerry Hankin of Laramie; stepdaughter, Lorrie (Tom) Baker of Albuquerque; and grandchildren.
She was an avid and masterful Bridge player and also loved playing Gin Rummy with her mom and aunt as she cared for them in their later years. She was a voracious reader, sometimes reading the same novel more than once if she loved it. She had a great sense of humor and love of life and treasured her many friends near and far. She made everyone she met feel special.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Dale Jones and Ruth Pingitzer; her grandmother, Frances King; her “Auntie” Viola Walker; her husbands: Edward Pollock and Royce Clay; her daughter, Carolyn Moore; and her stepdaughter, Linda Purdy.
She was much loved and will be missed immensely. She is now at peace and with Our Lord in Heaven.
