Larry Lubbers

Lawrence “Larry” D. Lubbers, a resident of Colorado Springs for 46 years, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014. He worked as a cashier in retail and was a United States Marine Corps Veteran.

Larry was born on July 23, 1962 in Durango, Colorado to Leo Vincent and Irma Pearl (Brogan) Lubbers. He graduated from Wasson High School.

Larry was strong-willed and very outspoken. He also tended to be reserved and somewhat stubborn, and we loved him dearly.

He enjoyed model cars, sketching and drawing, fishing, and reading Westerns. He was a Louis L’Amour fan and he loved his Denver Broncos.

He is survived by his sisters: Theresa (husband Scott) Sowles, and Chris Lubbers; and his brothers: Paul and Tim Lubbers. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard.
