Laurie Masure, age 52, passed away April 10, 2020 at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born March 13, 1968 in Boston, Massachusetts. She proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1991 to 1995 when she was medically discharged. While in the Air Force, she earned the National Defense Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and Air Force Training Ribbon.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted single mother and for her great love of her five dogs: Monty, Ava, Milo, Henry, and Boo. She had a special connection with all animals and had a way of winning the trust of “difficult” dogs that most people would have given up on long ago.
Laurie is survived by her daughter, Emma Katherine Masure; one brother; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
A small, private memorial service with Air Force honors will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 17, 2020 at the Shrine of Remembrance. She will be memorialized at the Shrine of Remembrance with a bronze plaque to be installed in the Veterans Honor Court.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Laurie’s memory to All Breed Rescue, or Small Dog Rescue in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
