In Loving Memory of Lawrence Paul Alires
“Larry” known by his friends and family was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, on November 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and dedication to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Candida (Bobby); son, Christopher (Tara); grandkids: Xavier (Kirsten) Alexander, Colin (Jayden) and Conner; great-grandkids, Aria and Oliver; sisters: Rosemary, Dolores, Linda, Grace, Rosalie; and brother, David.
Larry was a man who found joy in the great outdoors. Whether casting a line while fishing, setting up camp under the stars, playing poker in Cripple Creek, or tracking game on a family hunting trip, he embraced nature with passion and enjoyment! These pursuits weren’t just hobbies but a way of life, a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for the simple beauty of the world around him. Larry loved to fish, whether on his boat or next to a stream, Larry had his “secret” fishing spot, it was so secretive not even the fish knew where it was!
He owned his own Excavating company for the past 26 years, dedicating much of his working life to operating a tractor, contributing his strength and skill to the land. Hardworking and determined to make a difference in the community where he lived.
Above all, Larry was a family man. His family was his world! His warmth, wisdom, and steadfast support created a foundation of love that his family will carry on forever. Whether sharing stories, teaching life lessons, or simply enjoying time together, Larry’s family was his greatest treasure and greatest accomplishment!
Larry Alires’ life was a testament to the joy of living simply and fully, embracing both the challenges and blessings of each day. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date. In honor of Larry, the family invites you to share your favorite memories and stories, ensuring his legacy continues to inspire.
Rest in peace, Larry. May you find eternal joy in the most beautiful of fishing spots, the calmest camping grounds, and the greatest hunting trails in the sky!

30 Nov 2024I was on the wrestling team with Larry,112 pound weight division and he was a starting running back on the football team. There wasn’t a tougher 112 pound kid to be found any where.
