Leland “Lee” Lester Lambert, 94, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away September 8, 2012. Lee was born November 26, 1917 in Danville, Ohio to Charles and Grace Lambert.
Lee was a World war II veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He retired in 1967 as a Master Sergeant E7. During his proud Army career, Lee was stationed in Germany, Omaha, West Point and Fort Carson. After his retirement he worked for the Civil Service at the Air Force Academy.
While stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, he met and married Margot Fischer. They had two sons, Raymond and David.
Lee is survived by his loving wife Margot; son Raymond and his wife Karen of Loveland, Colorado; son David of Colorado Springs; sister Rose Van Dyke of Ohio; many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Inurnment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Columbarium of Tranquility. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard.
