Leonard L. Buresh, 98, passed away peacefully at Pallisades at Broadmoor Park on January 9, 2017. He was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1965. Leonard along with his wife, Genevieve were the former owners of two local petroleum businesses: Chief Petroleum & Chief Petrocard for many years. He also worked at the post office in Lincoln, Nebraska as a superintendent.
Leonard was born on November 5, 1918 to Andrew Buresh and Cecillie (Tejral) Buresh in Brainard, Nebraska. Leonard married his wife, Genevieve R. Hoffman in Bee, Nebraska on August 8, 1946.
Leonard enjoyed polka dancing, playing the accordion, home remodeling, traveling and being a business man. He also loved being a husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his two children: Larry P. Buresh, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Diane K. Ziemer-Hodgins, Colorado Springs, Colorado; son in-law: William B. Hodgins, Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandchildren: Clayton Z. Ziemer, Denver, Colorado; Amanda V. Ziemer, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Rachael A. Ziemer, Tampa, Florida; sister in-law: Allison Hoffman, North Platte, Nebraska; four nephews: Dr. Gerald Buresh, Omaha, Nebraska; Edward Rezac, Weston, Nebraska; Jerry Hoffman, Holly, New York, and Doug Hoffman of North Platte, Nebraska; three nieces: Ginny Conley, Vonnie Kros, and Joy Hoffman of Omaha, Nebraska.
He now joins in heaven both parents, his loving wife, Genevieve; brother, George Buresh; and sister, Emma Rezac.
Leonard was a longtime charter member of The International Polka Club, Czech Dance Group & Choir, as well as the Catholic church.
After retirement, he and his wife took a trip around the world. They were also recipients of the Marian Award from the Catholic Diocese of Colorado Springs.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 West Colorado Avenue with entombment to follow at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Athena, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard. A reception at the International Dance Club, 2422 Busch Avenue, will immediately follow the service.
