Lester E. Krienke
Lester E. Krienke, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1959, passed away January 24, 2013. He was a salesman in the hospitality industry.
Lester was born on July 26, 1921 in Athens, Wisconsin to Paul and Minnie (Thurs) Krienke. He married Lucile M. Behrendt on April 27, 1946 in Athens, Wisconsin. He was a WWII Veteran in the United States Army and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He greatly enjoyed fishing, gardening, and music.
He is survived by his wife, Lucile; his daughters: Lois (husband Tom) Wright of Demopolis, Alabama, and Marilyn (husband Mike) Anderson of Waunakee, Wisconsin; a brother, Orville Krienke; a sister, Marcella Van Reenan; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Leroy and Raymond; a sister, Delores; and a daughter, Janis Drovdal.
A visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4125 Constitution Avenue. Private entombment will take place at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Terrace Gardens Nursing Home, or Sol Amor Hospice.
