Lester “Robbie” Robertson

Lester “Robbie” Robertson, a Colorado Springs resident since 1965, passed away December 31, 2012 at Emeritus of Colorado Springs at the age of 84. He was a retired Electronics Technician with the FAA.
Robbie was born on September 29, 1928 in Grayson, Georgia to Julius and Ola (Ethridge) Robertson. He served his country with the United States Navy and the United States Air Force; retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was a proud member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of WWII, and formerly served as State Commander and Chapter President. He was also an active member of T.O.P.S. He enjoyed square dancing, travelling, and flower gardening. He was an avid fan of American History, especially Naval history of WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his sons: Darrell (Judi) of Temecula, California and Don (Susan) of Colorado Springs; and two grandsons, Scott and Jeff.
A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel and will be followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. also in the Chapel. A reception will follow at 11:30 a.m. at The Retired Enlisted Association, 834 Emory Circle. Private burial will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the giver’s choice.
