The Liquete family mourns the loss of Loreta Aquino Liquete, our much beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Loreta passed away at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 25, 2019, at the age of 86.
Loreta was born in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines on December 10, 1932. She married Antonio Lores Liquete in October of 1956 and together they raised six children. The family moved to Guam, USA in the early 80’s where they lived for almost three decades. Loreta moved to Colorado Springs in 2012.
Loreta is preceded in death by her beloved husband Antonio and her granddaughter Karen Kate. She is survived by her six children: Edwin (May), Nancy, Maluisa (Rick), Linda (Ted), Cely (Cameron), and Emilio; her grandchildren: Brian, Krystle (Mike), Leilani (Josh), Kelson (Aryn), John, Sophia, Isla, and Karina; her great-grandchildren, Quinn, and Emilia;her youngest brother Rodolfo Aquino, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Loreta will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, her resilience, strong will in overcoming life’s challenges, and her unparalleled spunk, and zest for life.
The Liquete family extends their gratitude to the caregivers of Pikes Peak Hospice. Pike’s Peak hospice provided such loving and compassionate care to Loreta in her last few months.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Following the service, entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven, Garden of Athena. A reception will follow the entombment.
