Lori A. Tompkins, 59 years, passed on March 27, 2017 in Colorado Springs. She was a resident of Cheyenne Village of Colorado Springs for 31 years and was formerly a resident of Joliet, Illinois. She worked with Goodwill Industries for 31 years as custodial staff and volunteering. She worked from 1994-2014 (Goodwill) at the Air Force Academy.
Lori A Tompkins was born on February 16, 1958 to John G. Tompkins and Mable E. (Skoien) Tompkins-Gudenrath in Joliet, Illinois. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1986.
Lori loved to go bowling, work on crafts, puzzles, being active with her friends and always on the go. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church and graduated from Joliet East High School in Joliet. She appreciated being part of her community and helping others in any way she could help, either working with her care staff, spending time with her family or just being there for her friends.
Lori is survived by her sisters, Marilyn J. Mahar and Patti A. Boesma; brothers, John L. Tompkins and Michael E. Tompkins; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John G. Tompkins Jr. and Mable E. (Skoien) Tompkins-Gudenrath and step father George A. Gudenrath.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
Lori, we will miss your smile, twinkle in your eyes, and your unconditional loving, tender, giving heart. You will be forever in our hearts. As you have touched so many and given so much to others.
