Louis P. Martinez, age 93, of Colorado Springs passed away August 2, 2021, at Pikes Peak Care Center from Dementia/Alzheimer disease. Louis was born May 7, 1928, in Colorado Springs. His family consisted of 4 sisters and 4 brothers. He was married to his wife Eralia K. Martinez, for 45 years until her passing. Louis served in both the Navy (WW2) on the USS Caperton, Army (Korean War/82nd Airborne) and later retired from the Army Reserves. He was active with the Jaycee’s and Chamber of Commerce. Louis bought and sold real estate through Walker & Co, owned the StripeRite business with several partners and owned a heavy hauling trucking business with his brother. He loved traveling, billiards and playing the slots.
Louis is survived by his special friend, Mary French, 3 children, Laverne Martinez (Dorothy), Kathryn Palumbo (Joseph), Richard Martinez (Lois), 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
The visitation will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd on August 11, 2021, at 9:00AM, Service at 10:00AM. Burial following.
