Lovella Blanch Reusch, 81, joined the church triumphant on July 22, 2024. She passed peacefully in her sleep from natural causes with complications of dementia. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering.
Lovella was the ninth child born to Charlie and Florence Urban on August 27, 1942, in Larrabee, Iowa. Lovella had a nickname of “Tootie” given by her dad meaning “little one”. She grew up on a farm and developed a fondness for both gardening and fresh vegetables. Lovella graduated from Larabee High School. While still in high school, she joined the youth group where Lovella met Darrell Reusch; the couple dated for three years. The two love birds joined in Holy matrimony on August 4th, 1961, in Iowa. Lovella and Darrell were blessed with four children: Keith, Suellen, Kevin, and Sara. Due to Darrell’s health the Reusch family moved to Colorado, where Lovella was a committed head cashier for Sears and later found delight as a trainer for new employees at Focus on the Family. Darrell passed away in 1991 and in 2014 Lovella met and married Dean Ernst.
Above all, Lovella’s life was defined by sharing joy in Christ. She especially delighted in singing hymns, particularly ‘How Great Thou Art.’ She made many great friends through her faith and was always a spiritual leader for her cherished children and grandchildren. She eagerly taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school for young kids, which brought her a considerable amount of delight. Lovella was fond of car rides in the mountains, picnics at the park, walks around the neighborhood and Sunday family dinners at her house.
Lovella was predeceased by her parents, Charlie and Florence; siblings: Glen, Gladys, Louis, Ardis, Francis, Wayne and Eleanor; husbands, Darrell Reusch, and Dean Ernst. She is survived by her sister, Alice Magana; her four children: Keith (Cyndi) Reusch, Suellen Anson, Kevin (Trisha) Reusch, and Sara (Timothy) Thornberry; her eleven grandchildren: Rebecca, Amos, John, Krystal, Shelly, Nathan, Brian, Cheryl, Lisa, Rachel and Julie; and ten great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home on August 1st, 2024 at 10 am, followed by a burial at Evergreen Cemetery. There will also be a viewing on the same day beginning at 9 am.
