Lt. Col. Geoffrey D. Germano, USAF (Ret.)
Lt. Col. Geoffrey D. Germano, age 63, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1989, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at his home. He had retired after serving his country in the United States Air Force for more than 22 years.
Geoffrey Dennis Germano was born on May 4, 1948 in Millis, Massachusetts to the late Charles F. and Mary L. (Murphy) Germano. He was a 1966 graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School and attended military college at the Citadel in South Carolina. He was a veteran of the Korean War, Vietnam, and Desert Storm/Shield. Geoff loved to read and his favorites were United States History, including the Civil War and both World Wars. He married Jane M. Cudlin on May 23, 1973 in Daytona Beach, Florida. He had a wonderful sense of humor and will be best remembered as a loving husband, devoted friend, and great neighbor.
He is survived by his wife, Jane. He is also survived by his siblings: Anne Baima of Millis; Charles F. (wife, Betty) Germano of Washington state; Paul J. (wife, Linda) Germano of Millis; and Claire M. Germano of Millis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation is planned for 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A Holy Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 South Corona Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905. A luncheon reception will follow the services at the church. Graveside services will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, March 26 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area C, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80235.
