Lucille McVey Worley
November 11, 1930 – January 11, 2016
Lucille was the last of a generation, the youngest of 20 siblings. She was raised in Lakin, Kansas where she married Lester “Curly” Worley in 1950. She went on to have 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, all of whom will miss her greatly. In 1963 Lucille and Curly moved to Widefield, Colorado where she was the cornerstone of the family while he traveled the Great Plains working for Colorado Interstate Gas Co.
She was preceded in death by Curly in 1988 and son, Patrick, in 1986. She is survived by her children and their families: Mike, Anna, Shannon (Klasen), and Andrew Worley; Pam, Pete, Alexis (Dial), and Jason Pedersen; Debbie and Bernie Ball; Patrick’s sons, Timothy and Tyler Worley; and finally her great grandchildren: Paige Dial, Lukas Klasen, and Mikayla Klasen. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Lauren Worley, and her sister-in-law, Freda McVey, plus many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Brookdale Broadmoor Assisted Living and Pikes Peak Hospice for the loving care they gave her. Most of all, Mike and Pam would like to thank our sister, Debbie and her husband Bernie, for the care and support they provided for many years to our Mother.
Lucille requested that no services be held for her. Anyone wishing to make any donations in her memory, please make them to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
