Lynne Danelle Smitley
Lynne Smitley, 62, passed away on June 20, 2013. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 22 years. She was a Food Service Specialist who had worked for numerous businesses in the area.
She was born on May 18, 1951 to Mark and Wilma Cash (Davenport) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lynne had been married to Stanley Smitley who died on January 30, 1994.
Lynne was an avid shopper, dog lover, and gambler – she loved Cripple Creek. She grew up in Colorado Springs where she loved the mountains and graduated from Wasson High School in 1969. She lived in Ohio and West Virginia before returning to Colorado Springs in 1991.
She is survived by her son, Chris Nicholson and his wife Beverly; and her sister, Karen Huber. She has 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013. A reception and luncheon will follow the service at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard. Inurnment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Old Glory Columbarium.
