Margaret Louise Golden, 96, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, February 11, 2012 following a fall in her apartment and the ensuing medical complications.
Margaret was a native of Colorado Springs, having been born on May 22, 1915 at Glockner-Penrose hospital to Martin and Maggie (Snorgrass) Adamscheck. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1933 and has been a “Westsider” all her life. On August 23, 1933 she married Gerald “Jerry” Vincent Golden and from this union two daughters and one son were born. They were happily married for 41 years until his passing in 1975. She worked many years at Looart Press and was part of the congregation of First Evangelical Free Church.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her younger brother Glen V. “Amos” Adamscheck of California. She is survived by her two daughters: Shirley Sampson and Mary Lou Pollart and one son, Jerry “Sarge” Golden. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Tracy (Dan) Adams, Ski Harris, James (Patricia) Sampson and Jason (Sarena) Cassino; 9 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Additional survivors are her brother, Ray (Alice) Adamscheck; brother-in-law, Burl Strutton; daughter-in-law, Marilynn Davis; nephew, Jerry Ray (Karen) Adamscheck; and niece, Jody Coonrod.
Private (family and close friends) services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Colorado Boys Ranch in La Junta, Colorado.
